5月8日（水）よりスタートしたリーネ・ディゲットのランド・アート展"Between Realities" 滞在制作の最終日11日（土）はワークショップ企画『みんなでプラネットをつくろう！』を行いました！当日はお足下の悪い中たくさんお客様にご参加いただきました。

みんなで雨合羽を着用し、まずはキースの杜を探索。リーネさんの作品を見ながら歩きます。

今度はみんなが杜にある様々な自然の素材を探して、思い思いのひとがたオブジェをつくります。

木や落ち葉をピックアップし、麻ひもで結わえたり、ペイントをしたり。もちろん材料はすべて自然に還る素材を使用します。

松ぼっくりでかたどったサークルの中にみんなのオブジェを入れて完成。

こちらが出来上がった"プラネット"。

本日の小淵沢は昨日の雨が嘘のように晴天。キースの杜に展示された作品たちも昨日とはまた違った見え方をしています。

キースの杜に創造したランドアートを「プラネット」と名付け、リーネと一緒にみんなで探検します。小枝や粘土など森に還る素材をつかってそこでしか創れないオプジェをつくりましょう。制作したオブジェは新たな「プラネット」の要素として、ランドアート作品の一部になります。

アートを通じて、子どもたちが「生きる」ということをより豊かに感じとれるよう、その手助けを教育の現場で実践している。一方で、アーティストとしてもグラフィック・絵画・インスタレーション・ランドアートなど作品も制作し、各国で活躍している。

『 キース・ヘリングの記号性 Picking up the Pieces:Keith Haring's Signs in Objects 』
会期：2013年3月16日(土)〜7月19日(金)
会場：中村キース・ヘリング美術館 自由の回廊

中村キース・ヘリング美術館は、当館学芸員により多角的な解釈でキース・ヘリングを再考、作品をセレクトし、シリーズで企画する ”キュレーターズ・セレクション ”を開催いたします。第５ 回目となるのが、本展「キース・ヘリングの記号性 Picking up the Pieces : Keith Haring’ s Signs in Objects 」です。

光る赤ん坊、吠える犬、空飛ぶ円盤、ピラミッド、躍動する人… . . キース・ヘリングの作品には繰り返し同じシンボルが登場します。 鑑賞者はヘリングが描き出す異なった記号を組み合わせることで、さまざまな関係性と文脈が生まれます。記号論を学んだ経験があるヘリングは、より明確なメッセージを、より多くの人々にアートを通して伝えるために、自らのドローイングの記号化を意識的に行いました。

本展では、その記号をモノに置き換えてみることで、記号の組み合わせにより構成された作品を一度分解し、ヘリング作品の新たな解釈を探るための実験的な試みを行います。

The Nakamura Keith Haring Collection curator team has selected several works from the collection,aiming for a diverse interpretation of Keith Haring. This “Curators’ Selection” was started last year, and willbe held four times a year. “Picking up the Pieces: Keith Haring’ s Signs in Objects ” is the fifth exhibition.

Radiant babies, barking dogs, flying saucers, pyramids, dancing people… The same signs appearrepeatedly in Keith Haring works. The viewer assembles together the signs drawn by Haring in his or her mind, and creates various relationships and contexts between them. Haring, who has studied semiotics, consciously used the effect of signs in order to make art accessible to more people.

In this exhibition, the collection of signs in Haring’ s work have been disassembled and replaced withactual objects for a new and experimental interpretation of Keith Haring.

"Keith Haring and the Pop World: Retrospect"

In this year’s exhibit “Keith Haring and the Pop World: Retrospect,” we will be reexamining the 80s Pop World that Keith created in NYC and launched globally.

In this exhibit, we will be showing Keith’s “Painted Tarpaulin (from Kochi Prefecture Museum), which he exhibited during his first solo exhibit at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery in 1982. Tarpaulin is a sheet that is used to protect cargo from rain on the back of a truck, and Keith used it often as his canvas. Keith wasn’t concerned with the concept of a “canvas” and used anything around him that he found useful. When this was shown in NYC, Keith was already well known for his “subway drawings” that permeated it’s subway system. His “subway drawings” were different from the bombastic graffiti tagging style that was the main stream in the street art world. In a sense it was political art for the masses. In the Shafrazi exhibit, Keith not only exhibited drawings, sculptures and paintings, but also drew all over the walls, creating a club-like atmosphere within the gallery. In a way, he redefined the concept of a “gallery” and the gallery experience.

Also, this year we will be showing one of Keith’s masterpieces “Retrospect” for the first time from our collection. Produced in 1989, the same year Japan started a new era by the crowning of the Heisei Emperor, the Berlin Wall collapsed, and the Tiananmen Square Protests broke out. In America the Cold War was at an end and the presidency shifted from Reagan to George H. W. Bush. Unlike the debt ridden America, Japan was experiencing a great economic growth. The quality of its products were surpassing that of America’s, thanks to its superior technology. 1989 was also the end of the tumultuous 80s, the end of Keith’s creative career. This particular piece is a retrospect of Keith’s career, a uniquely pop reaffirmation of his belief. His art that he spent years depicting over and over are all infused in one masterpiece. It was a challenge for Keith to keep pushing his boundaries and try to grow as much as possible out of his box while he had time left to live. Every cell in the piece is a depiction of Keith’s life, a life of movement.

中村キース・ヘリング美術館2013年度コレクション展
「キース・ヘリングとポップワールド：レトロスペクト」
会期：2013年3月16日（土）〜2014年1月6日（月）

本年度の展覧会「キース・へリングとポップワールド：レトロスペクト」では　80年代のニューヨークから世界へ羽ばたいたへリングが築きあげたポップ・ワールドを再考します。

今展では1982年にトニー・シャフラジ画廊で初の個展に出品した防水布に描いた貴重な絵画作品（高知県立美術館収蔵）を披露いたします。防水布はトラックなどの荷台に使用されるシートで、へリングはこの素材をよく用いました。伝統的なカンヴァスに拘らず、彼は身近にあるあらゆる素材をあえてカンヴァスにしたのです。ニューヨークで個展が開催された当時、彼は地下鉄の黒紙が貼られた広告版にチョークで描いていく「サブウェイ・ドローイング」ですでにニューヨークのアート界に名が浸透していました。広告版への落書きは端的なメッセージで、当時のストリートアートの主流だったタグの要素の強い、グラフィティとは一線を引いていました。サブウェイ・ドローイングは大衆へむけた一種のポリティカル・アートだったといえましょう。シャフラジ画廊の個展ではドローイング、彫刻、絵画作品を単に展示するだけでなく、画廊中の壁に描写し、まるでクラブのような空間を作り、大きな話題を呼びました。これまでの絵画・彫刻の概念や、グラフィティの定義などにとらわれず、新しいスタイルの画廊展を提示したのです。

また今年はキース・へリングの版画作品中で大作の一つである「レトロスペクト（回顧）」もコレクションから初公開します。この作品が制作されたのは1989年。日本は平成となり、ベルリンの壁が崩壊し、四六天安門事件が起きた年です。アメリカでは冷戦が終結し、8年間に及んだレーガン政権が終わり、ジョージ・H・W・ブッシュが大統領に就任。巨額な赤字を抱えるアメリカとは裏腹に、日本のメーカーはその洗練された品質と技術でアメリカ製品を凌ぐようになっており、好景気が続いていました。そして89年という年は激動の80年代を生きたキース・へリングの芸術活動の終焉ともなりました。「レトロスペクト」はそれまでへリングが繰り返し描いてきた人間と動物を独自のポップなイメージとして簡潔に再現していますが、作品の中の一コマ一コマのどれもが動きのある生きた描写です。

「大森たつし マリンバ・コンサート　—光と闇—」が「希望の部屋」で開催されました！

大森さんソロによる「Land」（村松崇継作曲）や「Rhythm Song」（ポール・スマドベック作曲）、ファゴット奏者の谷口愛さんとの共演「Mariel」（オスバルド・ゴリホフ作曲）、マリンバ奏者の神原瑶子さんとの共演「African Blues」（ヴォルフガング・ロッゲンカンプ作曲）などなど、闇に包まれた「考える部屋」から明るい「希望へ部屋」へと展開する当館のコンセプトに合わせたプログラムで、多くのお客様が魅了されました。

音楽の素晴らしさにキースと共に浸る、特別な午後となりました。
