MUSEUM SHOP

In the 1980s, as the art world saw soaring prices for artworks, Keith Haring sought to make art accessible to a broader audience and foster communication through creativity. In 1986, he opened the Pop Shop, a shop dedicated to selling merchandise featuring his art.
Haring viewed the original Pop Shop items as an extension of his artistic vision—infused with the messages and concepts that defined his work. His aim was not to create art that only the wealthy could afford, but to offer pieces that anyone—adults and children alike—could easily enjoy and connect with.
At the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection museum shop, visitors can find a timeless selection of goods, ranging from original Pop Shop merchandise to contemporary collaborations released after Haring’s passing. These items continue to be cherished worldwide, ensuring that Haring’s vision of art as a universal language lives on.
